How often should we groom our dog?
It is advisable to do this, at least, during the changing seasons, then, depending on the breed and hair of your dog, our groomers will be able to advise you best.
How often should we have our dog's nails trimmed?
For a puppy, it is advisable to have them cut every 3 to 4 weeks to prevent it from growing too much and becoming painful for it and also to accustom it to this handling.
For an adult dog, it is advisable to have them cut every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the wear of his claws (if he walks a lot on asphalt, depending on his gait or if he bites them).
Is it okay to bathe my dog every week?
No. Too frequent bathing can have harmful repercussions on your canine friend's skin and fur.

Nous respectons toujours le rythme, la sensibilité et les limites de chaque animal. Nous ne forçons jamais un chien à subir une procédure douloureuse pour un résultat esthétique. Lorsque le pelage est feutré ou trop emmêlé, le rasage devient la seule option sécuritaire. Nous utilisons alors la longueur maximale possible, afin de protéger la peau, éviter la douleur et prévenir les blessures.
Le feutrage peut causer :
- Tension sur la peau
- Rougeurs, irritations ou infections
- Accumulation d’humidité et de saletés
- Restriction des mouvements
- Hypersensibilité au toucher
Lorsque le feutrage est avancé, le démêlage est douloureux et risqué. Le rasage est donc une mesure de protection, jamais un choix esthétique.
Après une séance où le pelage était très emmêlé, il est normal que le chien présente certains comportements temporaires :
- Besoin de calme ou de solitude
- Rougeurs légères dues à la reprise de la circulation sanguine
- Léchage ou grattage modéré
- Sensibilité accrue au toucher pendant 24 à 48 h
- Changement de comportement (plus calme, plus collé à son humain)
Ces réactions sont généralement normales et passagères. Si quelque chose vous inquiète, nous sommes là pour vous accompagner.
En général, un entretien régulier permet d’éviter la majorité de ces inconvénients et d'avoir la liberté de pouvoir choisir la coupe qui vous convient.
Un entretien régulier signifie :
- Un brossage/peignage fréquent à la maison, adapté au type de poil
- Des rendez-vous de toilettage à intervalles constants
- Une surveillance du pelage pour prévenir les nœuds et le feutrage
